Daltile Wins Dealers Choice Award

Daltile, an industry-leading flooring brand, recently won the prestigious Dealers’ Choice Award for the 13th consecutive year!  During the recent Surfaces flooring tradeshow, retailers from across the nation cast their ballots and named Daltile’s new Fabric Art collection as the “Best New Ceramic Tile Product For 2017”!  The new collection will be launching nationwide this spring.

The Inspiration Of Fabric Art

“We have seen a shift in behavior, with consumers now wanting to bring natural elements into their surroundings,” said Massimo Ballucchi, director of product design for Daltile.  “To appeal to this consumer desire, we wanted to create a product that was beautiful and also emotionally resonated as something that universally brings comfort.  Historically, in interior design the use of ‘fabric’ accomplishes just that.”

“Our goal was to create a tile that provides both a textile ‘visual’ as well as the ‘feel’ of fabric,” added Ballucchi.  “We have achieved this in our new ‘Fabric Art’ collection.  Using Daltile’s tile body structure and multiple glazing application processes, we are very proud to bring to market a tile that comes amazingly close to both the look and feel of authentic fabric.”

Fabric Art’s Unique Color Palette & Textures

“In designing this collection, we used colors that bring harmony and calm to a space, such as white, beige, and taupe,” said Ballucchi.  “We also developed several bolder tonalities in keeping with some of today’s hottest colors, like midnight blue, black, and grey.”

“We then went one step further and differentiated the product by offering two different graphic options in the collection,” said Ballucchi.  “One is called Modern Textile and it has a more traditional fabric pattern.  The other is Linear Textile and as the name describes it has a linear pattern.”

“There are infinite ways to design and customize by mixing all of the colors and graphics found in Fabric Art,” concludes Ballucchi.  “To enhance the personalization process even further, we added four decorative options that resemble the design of a kaleidoscope.  These decorative pieces also serve as a convenient guide showing how all of the colors can mix well together.”
